About Pippo Ciorra
Pippo Ciorra is an architect, curator, critic, and professor. He is also an advisor for the Mies van der Rohe Award and a member of the editorial board of Casabella. Since 1981, Ciorra has been a contributor to the cultural pages of Il Manifesto in addition to other national media. He authored numerous books, texts, publications on architects, museums, urban issues. Ciorra curated and designed exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including the inaugural exhibition entitled Spazio at MAXXI Architecttura in Rome in May 2009, where he has been the senior curator since 2010. In 2012, Ciorra curated RE-CYCLE: Strategies for Architecture, City, and Planet and is currently working on ENERGY: Oil and Post-oil Architecture, an exhibition addressing the issue of the relations between energy, movement and architecture due to open in 2013, as well as a publication, focusing on the Italian linear coastal city which is based on 15 years of research and design experimentation on the subject.
