Nevinost bez zaštite [Innocence Unprotected] (1968)
Director: Dušan Makavejev
79 minutes
Nevinost bez zaštite [Innocence Unprotected] is based on the 1942 film of the same title, written and directed by locksmith and acrobat Dragoljub Aleksić. The film was never released due to Nazi censorship during the German occupation and was banned again by the Communist Party of Yugoslavia after the liberation, this time for alleged Nazi propaganda. In 1968, director Dušan Makavejev reconstructed fragments of the film through fictionalized scenes, propaganda footage from the period, and hand-coloring.
Makavejev's film won the Silver Bear and FIPRESCI Prize at the 1968 Berlin International Film Festival and the Gold Hugo for Best Feature at the 1969 Chicago International Film Festival.
The film will be screened in its original language with English and Turkish subtitles.
